Please make a note that our block of $85.00 rooms is quickly filling. Once those rooms are gone, the hotel will continue to honor the patio/view room for 105.00 per night, the corner rooms for 115.00 per night and the casitas (small furnished apartments) for 125.00 per night up until July 5th or until the hotel is full.

If you plan to arrive a day or two early, please make your reservation for Monday-Saturday and then send an email to Jenny Muffler at jenny@justwritestudios.com along with your confirmation number and what day you plan to arrive. Our hotel contact will manually enter any early arrivals so the correct rate is extended for the extra dates.

The special room rate will be available until July 5 or until our block of rooms is sold out - whichever comes first.

Dear Convention Attendees,

At last, the moment you have been patiently waiting for: The 2008 Convention Registration information! Here you will find the class descriptions, supply list for each class, teacher bios and other helpful information to get you to and around La Quinta.

In order to register for the convention, you MUST fill out the registration form and workshop selection form. Be sure to choose only one workshop for each time slot (either A or B), since they will be conducted in separate rooms. This year you can register online using PayPal, or you can register by mail by sending the completed forms along with your check made payable to IAMPETH to:

Kathy Saunders
1818 Kennedy Road
Webster, NY 14580

Please DO NOT use registered or certified mail.

Saturday evening is our Annual Banquet dinner. This is “the main event” to close the convention and is always a very special evening that you don’t want to miss! If you will be attending, please be sure to choose from the four meal choices on your registration form.

Some other things to consider while at the convention:

CLOTHING: It may be hot outside, but the classrooms will still be chilly! Bring a sweatshirt or sweater. Loose fitting cotton or other breathable materials will keep you cool when heading over to Old Town La Quinta for lunch or dinner. While the banquet is one of our more “dressed- up” events, I suggest going “California Casual”. (That is no ties, guys!) And ladies, bring a sweater or wrap just in case! And what trip to a resort would be complete without a swimsuit!

VENDOR: John Neal, Bookseller will be our vendor for the week, bringing with him all the items a penman could wish for! You may want to consider placing a pre-order, which John will have available for you to pick up at the convention. Their website is www.johnnealbooks.com.  Their phone number is: 1-800-369-9598. If you place a pre-order please do so by July 14 and be sure to tell them that it is for pick-up at the IAMPETH convention.

SILENT AUCTION: This is an important (and fun) fundraiser for IAMPETH! Any items of interest to a penman are welcome. In the past we have had paper, books, tools, books on tape, lights, jewelry, Ink wells, paint, inks, frames, note cards, pens, points and the most sought after….original pieces of work! Please help us to continue the tradition.

PIECES OF YOUR WORK FOR DISPLAY: We always enjoy seeing what others have been working on. In this way we continue to be sources of encouragement and inspiration to each other, and hopefully to others who may learn of us through media coverage.

One last piece of business…or two. Remember to participate in the evening presentations. We have put these programs together in a less formal environment to enhance not only your learning experience, but to help prepare you for “whatever may come your way”.

And finally when you register, it’s for the entire week. We don’t take partial registrations or registrations “per class”. The fee you pay for the entire, information-packed week is what you might pay elsewhere for just one workshop.

So fill out the forms and get ready to bring a writing-quake to California!
