Teacher's Note: This class will provide basic setup procedures of certificate design for beginners; fine-tuning and customization considerations for intermediates; and a “refresher” process for seasoned amateurs/professionals.

This is an exploration of how to compose the elements of a marriage certificate in order to produce a visually impactful and aesthetic design. A thorough discussion of format spacing, lettering choice, margins and borders, and text and illustrative content will be presented. The instructor will lead the participants through an interactive assignment from brainstorming to a final working pencil design.

Supplies: 

Mechanical pencil, White or Pink Pearl eraser, ruler, artist’s white tape, T-square or triangle (optional), 11”x 14” pad of Borden & Riley Marker Paper, and a pad of tracing paper.
