If you are already registered but your situation is uncertain, please know the deadline for a 100% refund of conference and meal fees (less $10 PayPal fee) has been extended to May 6th. And of course, in the event the conference must be cancelled due to restrictions on travel or mass gatherings, IAMPETH will refund 100% (less $10 PayPal fee) of registration and meal fees, regardless of when the cancellation occurs.

Please direct any questions regarding your existing registration to Debi Zeinert at debi@bloomingquill.com.

IAMPETH 2020 & COVID-19
03/12/2020 - 3:39pm

Now that Corona has, well, gone viral—many of you have questions regarding our upcoming conference. Here are some answers.

  1. Registration: Yes! Registration will go on as planned on Saturday, March 14 beginning at 11 am EDT.
  2. Cancellation of conference: In the event the conference must be cancelled due to restrictions on travel or mass gatherings, IAMPETH would retain your membership dues but refund 100% (less $10 PayPay fee) of registration and meal fees, regardless of when the cancellation occurs.
  3. Cancellations by individuals: If the conference goes on as planned, for individual cancellations please refer to our refund policy as published on page 35 of the Registration Information booklet. I think you will find it to be an equitable arrangement which should give you time to make your decision with minimal loss of funds.
  4. Hotel: The Grand Hyatt has a 72-hour cancellation policy, and the credit card used to reserve your room will not be charged unless you pass that deadline, at which point you would be charged for one night. However—and this is very important!---if you cancel your conference registration, please release your hotel reservation as well so another member may have access to a room at the conference rate.
  5. Travel: For those of you planning to fly, you may want to consider purchasing travel insurance for flight cancellation, looking closely at what contingencies are covered by various policies.

While we can’t know where things will stand a few months from now, we will be monitoring the situation and hoping for the best. In the meantime—whether or not you plan to attend the conference—please stay healthy and please stay in touch!

Donation of Doris Greene Smith Update
04/21/2017 - 6:55pm

21 April 2017

Dear Members,

As I stated in my latest letter to you, IAMPETH works as a team, and this is what makes us strong and successful.  In my current role as president, I try to be mindful of everyone’s contribution to that success.  Sometimes, I am unwittingly remiss in doing so.

There are two important and prominent team members I failed to acknowledge in the donation of Mrs. Doris Greene Smith.  They are Michael Sull and Thomas Costello.  Michael had initial contact with Mrs. Smith and made quite an impression on her in his praise of her father’s work and also pulled together hard copies of the Business Educator magazines featuring Mr. Greene’s lessons.  Michael then contacted Tom Costello, asking him to convert these to digital discs, which he did willingly.  Tom spent numerous hours completing this task making sure they were as clean and presentable as possible.  When he finished, Tom shipped the discs and magazines to me for inclusion in our archival collection.

Debi Zeinert, our Web Master, then made sure the discs were uploaded to our Rare Books section on our web site.  This summer at conference, the magazines will be added to our inventory by Neil McCaffery and his team.  This is an outstanding example of the kind of collaboration and hard work which goes on in IAMPETH.

It’s important we maintain our tradition of working together for the sake of penmanship.  Please join me in giving due recognition to Michael, Tom, Debi, and Neil for their parts in the recent addition of the G.C. Greene lessons.

Yours Sincerely and Gratefully,

Bryan Platt, President, 2016-2017
